Going It Alone

There a times when we feel alone. There are a times when we think we are alone. When we leave high school or college there is this unspoken expectation that we are complete individuals. We should never need anyone’s help ever again, right? Wrong! We are not meant to go it alone. Even after God created man, he realized that it was not good for man to be alone, so he created woman. Woman was created to provide companionship, relationship, and support.

Fellowship is also encouraged in the Bible. If you don’t have a significant other, and even if you do, you are never alone. You have friends, family and most importantly, you have God. I am hoping that there is someone in your life that you respect, someone that has given you evidence of their wisdom, someone that you trust. If you have such a person, you needn’t feel alone.

Sometimes we need to be reminded that we can and need to ask for help, to seek reassurance, to connect to someone outside ourselves. I have to be reminded of this once in a while. Each day of our life is an opportunity to learn and to teach. We are never alone. As much as we might feel alone in an ocean of people, we just need to stop and think about those that care about us.
